Menstrual Disorder
There are various ways by which menstrual disorder may occur. The followings are the cases involved.
There are various ways through which menstruation could be in disorder other than through pregnancy.

AMENORRHEA
This is the absence of menstrual periods. (It can date from the beginning of puberty in which case, it never began).

Causes include:
1.Anaemia
2.Hormone imbalance
3.Congenital defects of the genitals, tumors, or cysts
4.Excessive dieting
5.Emotional stress

Absence of periods in normal in the following stages;

1.Before puberty
2.During the course of breast feeding
3.During pregnancy
4.After the menopause

DYSMENORRHOEA
This is menstruation that is uncomfortable or painful. There are two types;

1.Primary or Spasmodic
This is linked directly with the uterus-spasmodic pain lasts up to 12 hours after the period stats. Half of women have some experience of it, especially those between the ages of 18 and 24, but it usually disappears after childbirth or if the contraceptive pill is used.

2.Secondary or Congestive
This occur before the period begins, usually a few days before. There is dull ache in the abdomen and lower back and after also, constipation, headache, irritability, lethargy, and depression. The symptoms usually stop when the period occur. The problem may be due to a hormone imbalance.

Other Disorders Include;
1.Excessive bleeding during periods (menorrhagia)
2.Abnormal vaginal bleeding between periods
3.Abnormal vaginal
discharges caused by infection


EARLY MENOPAUSE
The menstrual cycle usually ceases in the 40s but can stop earlier. Causes are unknown, but possibilities include frequent abortions and miscarriages, prolonged nursing of babies, too many babies in succession, very poor general health, over-production of the thyroid gland, coupled with serious obesity and others.

NORMAL OVULATION
Every month an egg is released from the ovary during ovulation. It travels down to the fallopian tube, where a sperm may fertilize it.
If fertilized,m it implants in the lining of the uterus
If not, the egg and lining are shed during the menstruation.




Treatment
The best treatment is to consult a gynecologist. Do not go for self-medication. It could be detrimental to your health.
